Mentors have made the biggest difference in my life, and my career. I have learned to use mentors to grow, but, what some people forget is that you can learn something from EVERYONE!
Sometimes you learn more from viewing what not to do, what has not worked, or the path not chosen.
I also take counsel, as heard from Mr. Hill in Think and Grow Rich. I have a group of trusted friends, family members, and coworkers that I take counsel…
I get their advice from each who has experience in the issue I’m wanting to tackle. I get their advice, then I review it and make my own (now educated) decision. I stick by it, because it’s my decision that I came to, not just blindly following advice.
Another powerful tool is to imagine having an internal “board room” of experts. Imagine having Jack Canfield, Donald Trump, Stepphen Covey, or anyone else helping advise you.
You can hear their voice, and your imagination will give them the voice with amazingly accurate interpretations of their answers. You’ll be astounded at your results.
