In her exclusive interview with SUCCESS for our January 2010 issue, Grammy-winning musician, trend-setting pop star, and unfailing philanthropist Alicia Keys shares that, “[giving back] is a necessity for success. It’s part of it. To be successful–not just at a job or a career, but as a human being–a portion of me has to be paying attention to the rest of the world. If I’m only wrapped up in my own life, my own issues or problems, then I’m not being fair. And I’m definitely not being successful.” Music may be her passion, but here she reveals her true purpose as co-founder and spokesperson for the Keep a Child Alive charity.
Please visit the Keep a Child Alive site here to find out more about the impact they’re making–and that you can make–in the lives of children like Bashir.

This video is definitely a very powerful inspiration for me. Thank you Alicia. The key to living our life to the fullest with whatever success means to you is to embrace passion for others. Passion with total transparency and love with others ready to share a helping hand. We are all connected in this universe. Love and compassion for other human being is the answer. Thanks again Alicia for giving me a reality check knowing that we are all equally accountable for sharing love with other human being so that no one has to suffer and there is no reason for anyone to suffer in other to have a glimpse of hope to experience abundance in their own life.

Thank you Alicia for this amazing message.
I have a dream. To design and manufacture a mobile clinic trailer fully equipped and sent it to Africa. This medical trailer would take medical and dental care to people which otherwise would not have access to it.
I am the President and CEO of American Custom Coach in California ( a manufacturer of mobile clinics).

Its more than being a fan or enjoying the beautiful soulful touching defining music that is Alicia Keys. You speak of being inspired Alicia, when your inspiration awoken my own in what is happening in my own country with children. I have had these deep seeded plans in the making for the past year and 2010 will be the year to showcase and make a difference. I love children, love being around them, often when I’m out at social functions or gatherings, I am often found hanging with the children instead rather than mingling with the adults! Just having a ton of fun laughing and being as creative as possible.
Thank you for your leadership and awakening to inspire me and others to keep taking action Alicia, and on the cover of success magazine, wow, that’s where your inspirational messages will channel through to others like me who truly want every child to know happiness, laughter and peace…

Life expectancy in Africa is 40. Wow. Anywhere you don’t want to go for vacation is a place with problems worse than your own.
