In this video clip, Rob Lowe and real estate mogul Tom Barrack visited USC to speak to students and faculty about “Making Movies, Making Deals and Making it Big,” hosted by the Marshall School of Business. Lowe and Barrack, the chairman, CEO and founder of Colony Capital, acquired Miramax Films, along with USC Trustee Ronald Tutor.

the honesty is amazing and the confidence in his own words comes and goes – as his fear weaves in and out of his life – however – what stays it the desire to take it on!

I think that he was spot on. The bottom line is usually fear and not ability. We as people are capable of achieving amazing things, but, more often than not, we limit ourselves by one means or another. Its recognizing that this is happening that is the hard part.
I like that quote from Dune:
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
