Tom Avery North Pole Expedition

World Explorer, Tom Avery, is one of only 41 people in history to have reached both the South and North poles on foot. He’s one of the brightest stars among the new generation of young explorers.

“We have been trying to hack our way through ice rubble for two days now. There are towers of solid blue ice everywhere, and it’s sometimes hard to imagine we’re ever going to find a route through.” So writes Tom Avery in his new book To the End of the Earth, which details his 37-day expedition to the North Pole in 2005. Wow! I am starting a subscription soon as I need the inspiration you folks provide. The videos are great and I replay them often, particularly the ones with Earl Nightingale and Og Mandino…really like the points he makes about Hank Aaron as well as the quote from Mark Twain.

The Aaron piece reminded me of something I read about Michael Jordan. He said that though his game wining buzzer beating shots were thrilling, he actually missed that shot more times than he made them, but that he couldn’t let the “failed” attempts keep him from trying again. If he had he would never have had the moments that did work.

    Thanks for what you do!

A beautiful dream turned reality. For brilliant people to follow! It shows the “beyond” where are no limits to human achievement. Thank you!
