Many, Many years ago, Iwas in a hospital for depression. I remember a nurse asking me ‘what do you want?’
My reply,’ I want to be happy!’
Her next question,’What is it going to take to make you happy?’
My response.’for everyone I love to be happy.’ I replied this with much sorrow because I knew deep in my heart that I could not make everyone happy.
I had to change my way of thinking because i REALIZED MY UNHAPPINESS was making everyone I loivedunhappy and sick. As sick as I was…
By the renewal of my mind and changing my priorities< I am very happy! And the ones I love are happy also because happiness is a choice that is cantagious!
Contagious to the ones you love!

I watched the full screening of The Happy Movie at the ICF – Toronto meeting last week (International Coach Federation – Toronto Chapter). The full screening is a MUST see. My key learning was that I had an unrealistic expectation to be happy all the time. When I experienced loss and disappointment which are a part of everyone’s life, this unrealistic expectation made me judge and feel worse about myself. At those times, I tended to focus on the loss and not see/appreciate those little, but important, happy positive experiences. As a result of watching the movie, I am now reflecting on the happy positive experiences daily to build up my happiness ratio.

When I read the book “Happy for no Reason”, by Marci Shimoff, I undestood that we can be happy despite difficulties and uncertainties, and even pain which occur in our lives.
I feel that being happy is to have a life meaning, to love and be loved or at least appreciated by the ones we do care about. It does not involve the amount of wealth in terms of greateness, but what do we mean by that money, what we could do to bring comfort and relief to others, what peple such as physicians, do to bring relief to peple in need. For that reason, despite the fact that money is so important for us to have a decent life and survive, especially in today´s world, it also may help people discover an ultimate meaning for their lives, and take action in this regard.Everybodfy wasts to be happy. Let us do our best to make the ones we meet happier than before we met them.
